📚 These are great personal development books I have enjoyed and recommend to clients wanting to work on themselves and their relationships between and after sessions.
📖 The Examined Life: How We Lose and Find Ourselves by Stephen Grosz. This book is about learning to live based on Grosz’s 25+ years as a psychoanalyst.
📖 Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman. On average we get about 4000 weeks on this planet. This book is an exploration in personal development – how best to use the time we have.
📖 Create Your Own Calm: A Journal for Quieting Anxiety by Meera Lee Patel. A beautiful journal designed to help you explore your inner world with exercises to support you in reducing anxiety and your personal development.
📖 The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did) by Philippa Perry. The title speaks for itself really! Sane and non-judgemental advice. I frequently recommend this book to clients and you may wish to follow her column in The Guardian.
📖 Set Boundaries, Find Peace by Nedra Glover Tawwab. This personal development book explores why boundaries are such a necessary element of self-care and how to set (and maintain) healthy boundaries.
